Children's fears. What to do when your child is afraid 🫣

It's normal for children to have fears and anxieties, and as a parent, there are several things you can do to help your child when they are afraid:

📍Acknowledge their feelings: Let your child know that it's okay to feel afraid and that you understand how they are feeling.

📍Be calm and reassuring: Stay calm and provide reassurance to your child. Let them know that you are there to protect them and that they are safe.

📍Provide age-appropriate information: Explain the situation or object that is causing fear in a way that is appropriate for your child's age and level of understanding.

📍Encourage bravery: Encourage your child to face their fears by taking small steps, such as gradually spending more time in the presence of the feared object or situation.

📍Use distraction: Provide a distraction or engage your child in an activity to take their mind off their fear.

📍Create a safe space: Create a safe space for your child where they feel secure and comfortable, such as a cozy corner with their favorite books or toys.

📍Seek professional help: If your child's fears are severe or interfering with their daily life, it may be helpful to seek the advice of a professional, such as a therapist or counselor.

Remember that every child is different, and some fears may take longer to overcome than others. Be patient and supportive, and let your child know that you are there to help them through their fears.
