How children are raised in South Korea: 5 main principles.

In Korea, it is customary to say that with the birth of a baby, a second birth of the family takes place. In this country, from an early age, children are taught respect for elders, love for work. These two principles are the basis of Korean education. Also, a clear hierarchy is always observed in the family. In general, the upbringing of children in Korea has its own characteristics, which are associated with culture and mentality. Let's find out how children are brought up in this country!

Instill respect for elders

In Korea, it is customary to observe a hierarchy. The younger ones obey the elders, the children obey their parents. In kindergarten, when an adult enters the room, the teachers bow the heads of the children, teach them to bow as a sign of respect.

From an early age, children are explained the importance of the family, they are taught to speak correctly with the elders (using special phrases). The younger ones are forbidden to address adults as "you", even if the difference between children is 1-2 years.

Even on the playground, they call each other "little brother" or "big sister". This does not mean that all these children are relatives. In this way they show that they know their place (position) in the team (society).

The family is the basis of society

Children are taught that family is very important. They even have a saying - "Don't clap your hands with one hand." They are explained how important it is to support each other, always be together and not betray family values.

Such principles of family unity are instilled not only at home, but also in kindergarten and school. And respect for parents is a public duty.

Use sweets as motivation

Children are often rewarded with sweets. If the caregiver wants the kid to do something, then as an encouragement or motivation, he can give him a sweet cookie or candy.

The family does not pay much attention to clothes or shoes

Koreans are used to buying clothes or shoes for children for growth. They give preference not to beauty, but to convenience and quality. Favorite shoes are sneakers that can be worn in any weather.

Don't dwell on silence

Koreans are not used to protecting the sleep of babies, and they also do not follow the regime very much. Apparently, this is why Korean children fall asleep easily in any public place, even a very noisy one.

Children are explained that if they are tired, they can lie down to rest, even at a party or public transport. They are also strictly forbidden to act up in public.

For parents, raising a child according to traditions and preparing for independent living is considered a sacred duty. Their way of life is aimed at forming a certain orientation of the personality. After all, the moral and social status of the whole family depends on the behavior of the child.
