In primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic, there is a subject that is called finanční gramotnost (financial literacy).
Children are taught what money is, how to distribute, control and regulate personal income and expenses. Students receive information about taxes, utility bills, spending on food and clothing, capital expenditures for buying a house and a car, as well as saving, investing and starting their own business.
Various experts in the field of economics and finance are often invited to the lessons, who share their personal experience and important life hacks with students.
Particular attention in the Czech course for schools is paid to handling contracts and other official documents. They also talk a lot about insurance. Not only about the classic types of insurance, but also about simple household items that will save your personal or family budget. For example, in case a person floods the neighbors' apartment.
