Syrian families are waiting for heirs, boys who will take care of all their relatives in the future. Therefore, if a girl is born, local families try to continue the race until a male baby appears.
Before school, as a rule, children are with their mother, at school they usually study according to the program (tutors for schoolchildren and circles for kids are far from affordable for everyone). In their free time from school, the boys work, helping their father at work and doing small assignments (the value of such work is instilled in them from the cradle), and the girls stay with their mothers, helping around the house.
Most children, growing up, continue the work of their parents. Of course, there are those who go to study abroad, for medical or military specialties, but it is quite expensive, so it is not very common.
